Thanks to the fact that I can’t drive at night (pictures don’t take), I’m about to go spend 12 hours sitting at a campsite in the rain by myself in the name of Highways. That’s got to be the least fun thing I can imagine, but I’m definitely doing it (unless some crazy fun alternative pops up). I better be able to find dry enough sticks to build a fire.
UPDATE: OK….you can question my devotion to highways. I’m postponing until Sunday because the passes are looking pretty icy with a lot of snow right now and this storm is supposed to pass tomorrow. I’m still going to do it as long as the storm passes, but it’s going to be another day. Absolute worst case scenario is I go Monday and get back Tuesday, but I really don’t want to do that. Sorry about that, everyone!
UPDATE #2: No, I really am going tomorrow. I already have all my stuff in the car and am not going to carry it back up. Anyway, if I have time (which will be pushing it, especially if I have to slow down over the passes), I’m going to head over and get SR 172, a little more of SR 17, and then more of US-2 (so I’ll actually have a meaningful chunk). That helps out a lot because I won’t have to retrack through Wenatchee up US-2/US-97 ever again, I can just come down 28.
