Definitely heading to Oroville/Chelan/Coulee (UPDATED)

I sorted out some of the variables that would prevent me from taking the Chelan/Oroville/Grand Coulee Dam drive, so I’m all about getting that done t his weekend. I’ll probably leave Saturday morning, spend the night at Alta Lake State Park in Pateros, and get back Sunday evening.

Highways I’ll clinch:

  • SR 155
  • SR 174
  • SR 153
  • SR 173
  • SR 215
  • US-97 ALT
  • SR 150
  • SR 971
  • SR 285
  • SR 970
  • US-97 SPUR
  • SR 155 SPUR
  • SR 174 SPUR

Highways I’ll make progress on

  • US-97 (I-90 to Canada)
  • SR 20 (SR 153 to the end of the 97 multiplex)
  • SR 17 (SR 174 to northern terminus at US-97)

Highways I’ll make “progress” on (random chunks)

  • US-2 (US-97 multiplex, SR 155 to SR 174)

On a related note, the “North” 53x drive is postponed indefinitely as a direct result of this. I’m including SR 20 all the way to 153 in that drive now, making it significantly longer and more expensive. I plan to have it done in Spring 2008. I value this drive more as I don’t get 4 day weekends very often and I really need to blow out the huge chunk of the state of Washington I have absolutely no reason to be in (that being basically the rectangle bounded by Wenatchee to the southeast and the Idaho/BC/Washington border on the northwest). This will give me a significant chunk of that.

UPDATE: There’s a few spur routes I just ofund out about I’ll be adding in. One is SR 155 SPUR which is just an extension of the mainline, but whatever (connects SR 155’s northern terminus at US-97 to SR 215). Another is US-97 SPUR, which is signed as US-2 and helps at the north end of that multiplex. The third is SR 174 spur which goes up to Crown Point State Park.
