6 west will briefly join 8 south. East Main Street turns into CT 222 north, which heads into downtown Thomaston.

Turn left for 6 west/8 south, which run concurrently for a short period. When I drove this in the spring of 2021, the ramp to 6 west from 8 south was temporarily closed and traffic was detoured onto CT 222. Stay straight for CT 222 north.
