So that was a fun drive, diverse, interesting, lots of roads. Learned a lot today, namely that Washington signs US-30 very liberally when near Oregon, seemingly encouraging people to use that route. Also realized that SR 433 actually enters Oregon. Not officially, not in the route logs, but Washington owns the bridge and Oregon doesn’t have a highway there. It is signed as SR 433 as well (even on the Oregon side). Neat.
I definitely enjoyed that drive, except all that construction. Seems as if they are getting everything in they can at the last minute.
No drive next week, I’ve got family commitments, but the following week you should swing by and I plan on taking the Ocean Shores/Tahloah/Shelton drive to tie up loose ends over that direction (109, 115, the rest of 3, 106, 102, 107).
Clinched Pacific and Wahkiakum Counties today. So now we’ve got (in order of completion)

- Walla Walla

- Thurston
- Clallam
- Pacific
- Wahkiakum
and very, very close on Pierce (165), Kitsap (104, ferries), Jefferson (104), Island (532), and Columbia (261).
Got the pictures from the last drive finally all up tonight, and I’ll work on getting the images formatted as we go.
Also: I’ve got a bit of a dilemma. State Route 433 is the only highway I have ever encountered that actually enters another state. The purpose of this site is to cover “highways in the great state of Washington.” SR 433 is technically in Oregon for a good portion of it, as evidenced by this picture:

So how should I divide this up? It is clear that Washington owns the bridge, this is NOT an Oregon route despite driving within the Oregon State Line. Should I have one solid page titled ” State Route 433, SR 432 to US-30/Oregon State Line?” Should I break it into two pages, “SR 432 to Oregon State Line” and “Oregon State Line to US-30?”
And if the latter, should the second page go under the “other states” category? If you have an idea, leave a comment. I’m just not sure what seems the most logical. I tend to want to make it two pages, but then leave them in the same place, under “State Route 433.” But having highway in Oregon on the Washington page seems incorrect, and runs contrary to the mission of the site. But it is still a Washington highway.
