SH-16 is just a quick route over to US-85 and then randomly turns into SH-21 a couple miles east of there. The way the highway system is structured now, SH-16 turns into SH-21 which turns into SH-83. It would be nice if that could all be one number, but I guess CDOT wanted to eliminate confusion with the 21 commissioning by giving it its own number
