No reassurance shield at the beginning of this part of 40 Business. This is sort of a weird setup- this is technically a second business loop of I-40, but it just follows Old 66 and connects to the main business loop here in a few miles. Since it’s not the actual business loop, it’s unsigned.

A few miles later, we’ll enter Flagstaff. The junction is right around this corner. Turn left for the main Business 40 and US-180, as well as Route 66 west.

Turn right for Business 40 and US-180 east, which intersects US-89 in like a block

Turn left for 40 business/180/Route 66 west. Turn right for 40 business/180 east to 89 north. If they were really clever, they could have just dropped the 40 business designation east of here and just called it US-180, eliminating the need for two business loops, but that’s too easy.

The road into Flagstaff is actually called “Route 66.” Highway 89 begins like a block north of here, so this is close enough.
