This is about the most boring 41 miles you&#8217;ll ever drive on. Good time to pick up a Navajo\u00a0hitch hiker, honestly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/az\/160\/163to191\/3.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AMP: <\/strong>401<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-160 and BIA 59, Navajo Cty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">8 miles later, we&#8217;ll approach Indian 59, which heads down to Chinle<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/az\/160\/163to191\/4.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AMP: <\/strong>401<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-191 and Indian 59, Navajo Cty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">33 miles to US-191. Cortez, Colorado appears as a destination for the first time. People talk about the Oklahoma Panhandle as desolate, but I visited this area and that area within a week of each other and this is way more boring and desolate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/az\/160\/163to191\/5.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AMP: <\/strong>402<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-160 and Local Rd, Baby Rocks, Navajo Cty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The only thing this area has is the occasional rock formation, and those are nifty, but not all that frequent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/az\/160\/163to191\/6.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AMP: <\/strong>416<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-191 and Dennehotso Rd, Apache Cty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A few miles later, we&#8217;re 17 miles from US-191<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/az\/160\/163to191\/7.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AMP: <\/strong>434<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-160 and US-191, Apache Cty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Several miles later, we&#8217;ll approach US-191<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/az\/160\/163to191\/8.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AMP: <\/strong>434<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-160 and US-191, Apache Cty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Follow 191 south to Chinle and Ganado. There&#8217;s a McDonalds in Window Rock and Shiprock, if that&#8217;s interesting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/az\/160\/163to191\/9.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AMP: <\/strong>434<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-160 and US-191, Apache Cty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Follow 191 south to I-40 (!) which is a hell of a trek. Stay on 160 west\/191 north for Utah and Colorado.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/az\/160\/163to191\/10.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AMP: <\/strong>434<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-160 and US-191, Apache Cty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Turn right for 191 south. Stay straight for 160 west\/191 north. As far as ADOT is concerned, this is the technical end of US-191. 160 carries it a few miles, and then BIA 12 carries it up to Utah, maintained by the BIA instead of ADOT. UDOT maintains it once we hit Utah.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/generic\/us160.png\" alt=\"\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/?p=995654\"> N to US-191<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/?p=995652\"> S to SR 564<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/generic\/US_191.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"88\" height=\"70\" \/> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/?p=995632\">N to US-160<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/?p=995631\">S to SR 264<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/generic\/us163.png\" alt=\"\" \/> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/?p=995648\">N to UT State Line<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AMP: 393 Location: US-160 and US-163, Navajo Cty Reassurance shield after 163 as we head out of Kayenta.
