This shield is a textbook-conventional alternate highway sign. You&#8217;ve got dual banners and everything. I kind of like the elegant integrated ALT 97 signs used otherwise. This, while completely correct, is terribly boring. I&#8217;d recommend revising the MUTCD to use Washington&#8217;s ALT 97 for bannered routes, putting the ALT or SPUR or BIPASS or BUSINESS or rare CITY inside the shield<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/97ALT\/150to971\/2.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>MP: <\/strong>233.59<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: W Woodin Ave and W Webster Ave, Chelan<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Reassurance shield as we head out of downtown Chelan, which is a surprisingly large town.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/97ALT\/150to971\/3.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>MP: <\/strong>232.06<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: W Woodin Ave and N Johnson Pl, Lakeside, Chelan Cty<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Reassurance shield as we vacate the village of Lakeside<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/97ALT\/150to971\/4.JPG\" height=\"423\" width=\"418\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>MP: <\/strong>230.73<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: ALT US-97 and S Lakeshore Rd, Lakeside, Chelan Cty<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">JCT SR 971 coming up here really quickly<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/97ALT\/150to971\/5.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>MP: <\/strong>230.43<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-97 ALT and S Lakeshore Rd, Lakeside, Chelan Cty<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Exit right for SR 971, which loops around through Lake Chelan State Park back to 97 ALT.
