We&#8217;re about to climb straight up those mountains<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/wy\/us14\/343to14a\/5.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AMP: <\/strong>78<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-14 and Horseshoe Rd, Sheridan Cty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">After we pass the last little neighborhood before beginning to drive straight up, we&#8217;re told this is where 14 would close<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/wy\/us14\/343to14a\/6.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AMP: <\/strong>76<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-14 and Black Mountain Rd, Sheridan Cty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Reassurance shield as we make our way up the hill. This hill is a challenge on a vehicle&#8217;s transmission- the speed limit is 55 but a normal car can&#8217;t comfortably manage more than 35 or 40. Got stuck behind an RV and went 15 MPH another time I drove it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/wy\/us14\/343to14a\/7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"908\" height=\"449\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AMP: <\/strong>48<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-14 and US-14 Alt, Sheridan Cty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">After we finally make it to the top of the hill, we come to a junction with US 14 Alternate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.corcohighways.org\/highways\/wy\/us14\/343to14a\/8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"819\" height=\"476\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AMP: <\/strong>47<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Location<\/strong>: US-14 and US-14 Alt, Sheridan Cty<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Left for 14, right for 14 Alternate. 14 Alternate, former Wyoming Highway 14, and before that US-420 (420 woooo), takes a northerly route. It&#8217;s a more technically challenging drive and probably takes a little longer, but is quite pretty.
