We approach CR 54G again, the Laporte cutoff. This used to be a conventional intersection, but was recently re-aligned to a roundabout.<\/p>\n

Exit right for CR 54G\/old US 287 back into Laporte.<\/p>\n

Keep right for US-287 south and SH-14 east. After the turn, the speed limit will not go above 45 again and we will enter the Fort Collins area<\/p>\n

Another reassurance shield as we enter urbanish Fort Collins. The road will still only be two lanes wide until the SH-1 junction<\/p>\n

We come to a junction with SH-1. SH-1 is the original number for the main North-South highway across Colorado, replaced by US-87 and later I-25. Today, all that remains is a short hop from Fort Collins to Wellington.<\/p>\n
