Reassurance shield after Mt Werner Rd. 40 is a weird road through Steamboat- it has occasional interchanges but isn’t limited access at all-it’s like a pseudo-expressway<\/p>\n

The good people of Steamboat Springs cater to the metricians by signing all their speed limits in metric with a non MUTCD compliant but more internationally interesting circle<\/p>\n

Turn right to get to Routt CR 129. County roads in Routt are signed with a green shield as we pass out of downtown Steamboat<\/p>\n

Reassurance shield after Milner as we head towards the Yampa Valley airport, which is the main airport for Steamboat, even having commercial service<\/p>\n

A few miles later we’ll enter Hayden during one of the worst downbursts I have ever seen<\/p>\n

Reassurance shield as the rain stops and we head out of Hayden. That rain lasted about 3 minutes and in that time the shoulders flooded, as you can see in this photo<\/p>\n

Follow 13 North towards Baggs, Wyoming and 40 west towards Vernal, Utah on this rare for Colorado button copy sign<\/p>\n

Turn right for SH-13 north. Stay straight for 40 west and 13 south. The two routes will run concurrent through Craig<\/p>\n
