A few miles past Lone Pine, we’ll pass by the Manzanar Japanese Internment Camp, where the U.S. Government forcibly relocated thousands of U.S. citizens of Japanese ancestry during World War II. It’s worth a visit.

In 500 feet, we’ll approach SR 168, which connects to US-95 in Nevada. The Roosevelt Sequoia Tree in the background was planted (not by any Roosevelts) to commemorate the road opening.
