Montana Highway 264, S-522 to US-87

Note: This may not be Montana 264 and may be an unnumbered highway. It’s internally referenced as P-264, which is consistent with many highways with higher P- numbers. It is signed on street blades as “Hwy 312” in reference to Old US 312, so it could arguably “Montana 312” too.

Location: Old Hwy 312 and Northern Ave, Yellowstone Cty

No reassurance shield as P-264 begins. This is the old routing of US 312 into Billings, which was demoted to an X-route many years ago but was added back onto the state highway system as a P-route in 2018.

Location: Old Hwy 312 and Five Mile Rd, Yellowstone Cty

P-264 enters a roundabout as we get towards Billings.

Location: Old Hwy 312 and Five Mile Rd, Yellowstone Cty

P-264 is signed on paddles as “Hwy 312,” so it could actually be “Montana 312.” I doubt this highway ever gets signage though, because the number would either need to be 312 or it would confuse a lot of people.

Location: Old Hwy 312 and Five Mile Rd, Yellowstone Cty

No signage after the roundabout.

Location: Hwy 312 and Bench Blvd, Billings

As we enter Billings, we’ll approach US 87.

Location: Hwy 312 and Bench Blvd, Billings

Follow 87 south into downtown Billings. 87 north heads to Roundup.

Location: Hwy 312 and Bench Blvd, Billings

Stay straight for 87 south and turn right for 87 north. P-264 ends.
