About a mile later we’ll enter Hayward and approach “A” Street. SR 185 was originally defined as ending ahead at SR 92, but since that time SR 185 was relinquished through Hayward and this is the end of state maintenance. This is also the junction with SR 238. Stay straight to follow 238 south. If it were legal to turn left, you could turn left onto SR 238 north. Depending on how you interpret California statute, 185 could continue to concur with 238 down to 92 over a useless overlap – if you feel that’s the case, just click through on SR 238 south.
