A couple miles into Georgia, we’ll enter Clayton. It’s amazing how much 76 changes from South Carolina into Georgia, going from being a semi-exurban arterial of sorts to a mountain highway with not much more than the crossing of a state line.

As we head into town, we’ll approach US-23/US-441 and SR 15.

Follow the highways north and west to Clayton and Hiawasee. Take the highways south to Clarkesville.
